I can't tell you how jazzed I am about the new series that starts October 21st. If you're a CCV'er I want to ask you to figure out how to get as many of your friends to go to the website below as possible! Forward the link. Do whatever you can to get the word out. A 20' tall by 10' wide banner of the image on the left is now on the side of our church building. 400 step-stake signs with the same image are going out as we speak. Get the word out...it's going to be a great series!

Will you be doing the talks?
Yes, I will be doing all three.
what time are the talks at ? I saw one of your signs and you caught my interest
I wonder if you will open up to same sex relationships. Or will you dismiss it as a sin?
I guess you'll have to come and find out!
As a person in the church that lives with a same sex partner, Brian's views on this issue aren't as dismissive as many other places I have been. He recently did a sermon on this very issue and it was good to hear what he had to say and feel the support of those around me. At least from what I gathered, they teach that homosexuality is no more of a sin than any of the other sins-and that ultimately we need to love each other and not judge each other more harshly for some sins and not others. They will not stand up and say it is right and everyone should go out and do it-but they aren't going to judge you either--or kick you out--which I have experienced at other churches. They will love you and hold you in their hearts just like everyone else.
I don't know-at the end of the day I still keep going back because the people are real-they are accessible and I feel they see me and love me the way I am. I hope I have not mis-read them all . .
I hope you will come too and see what it is about.
I think that's a fair representation of what our church teaches concerning the issue. However, I'm not quite as sweet as you paint me out to be (though I appreciate the kind words) :)
I am a Christian and find your signs upsetting. I realize the point is to intrigue non-believers and get them to hear the Message. But, before realizing that your church was behind the signs (when I drove by today, by chance), I was ready to call my township to complain and have the signs removed. Driving quickly by the signs, unable to make out the picture on them other than that there are naked feet in bed, and reading the name of the website makes it appear to be something pornographic and I find that worrisome. I do applaud you for taking a risk to reach out to the needy...I guess my issue is the questionable methods used.
I am a fellow believer. I have seen your signs all over the highways in our area ... and I'm wondering why you feel the need to use "sex" to draw people in to your church. It just makes it difficult for parents of small children to deal with your signs in a discreet way. There are many other ways to 'hook' people and get their attention. As a fellow believer I am offended by your lack of discretion and un-Christ-like discernment.
Sure we all sin. But I believe a truly repentant heart would remove theirself from the situation. The bible is very clear that homosexuality is an abomination to the Lord. The bible also tells us that the last days would be the same as in Noah's time. Remember Soddom and Gomorrah? Jesus didn't judge the women at the well or the woman caught in adultry but said to "sin no more"
One more thing. Sexual immorality is a graver sin because it is against our body. Read the book of Proverbs or Paul's letters. A lot of people are looking for candy store theology where you pick and chose what you like.It doesn't work that way. The truth is the truth.
Acts 8:22 says (KJV) "Repent therefore of this thy wickedness, and pray God, if perhaps the thought of thine heart may be forgiven."
It seems to me that even our wicked thoughts are sinful, even if we don not carry them out. We know that God cannot even look at sin because God the Father could not even look at His Son Jesus when he was bearing the sin of all mankind on the cross. Jesus even said to God the Father "Why has thou forsaken me."
I do not believe God can look at any kind of sin whether it be of the body or of our wicked thoughts only. So what does it matter what kind of sin it is? Even one sinful thought, not carried out equals condemnation without the covering of the blood of Jesus. Sin is sin. I do not think it matters what type of sin you might be referring to.
