Brian's Heart For Struggling Church Leaders

Brian has always had a heart for church leaders who are wrestling with their faith and leading struggling churches and/or church plants. It all started in 1995 when Jones moved to Dayton, Ohio to start the largest and fastest growing church in the history of human civilization.

Four years later, much to his surprise, that new church had zoomed from 150 to, well, 150. Frustrated, ready to quit, sick of dealing with crappy rental facilities, ready to flip out if one more person from the nutty Televangelist’s church down the street tried to come in and take over, he threw in the towel. Like 16,345 times.

Much of what Brian learned about forgiving people and hanging on when times get tough he learned through that experience. In fact Brian says that the subtitle he wanted to use for Second Guessing God was, "How to hang on when you are pastoring a church which has attracted 5-6 of the meanest people you'd ever want to meet but can't quit because your wife won't let you so you struggle everyday with the unrelenting desire to go to the garage and bash yourself in the face with a shovel." His publisher said that didn't have quite the ring they were looking for.
